Places to go in JAIPUR | Part 1

17 August 2018

India is always on top of my bucket list and i finally tick it off the list!

Do things that we love is really important. For me, it is always traveling, exploring new places and different culture. This trip is truly amazing. Before i go, I knew that this trip would touch me in a different way. Compared to the countries that we have been to before, India was different, architecturally and culturally. I can’t wait to share my full itinerary and travel experience with you guys!

Before i go to India, i received a lot of DMs and message telling me that how dangerous the country is. In fact, it is not as scary as i thought, the people there is really nice and friendly. Trust me, India is just too pretty to be scared of visiting. Well, to be honest i’m glad i made it. It is like a dream come true to visit India for me.

Out of so many places in India, we decided to cover Jaipur and New Delhi for our first visit. So basically, It is a 7D6N trip for us to explore Jaipur and New Delhi. Yes, i’m traveling with one girl and it is totally SAFE! The whole trip ( Flight + Accommodation is approximately RM2500 per pax )

Keep scrolling down for my full itinerary and some travel tips.

Jaipur is the historical capital of Rajasthan, India. It holds a significant place in every wanderer’s heart. There is a lot of history here compared to other Indian cities because of its royal monarchy past. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped back in time upon your visit.

Why is Jaipur the PINK CITY?

In 1876, the Princes of Wales and Queen Victoria visited India on a tour. Since Pink denotes the color of hospitality, The King Ram Singh painted the whole city pink to welcome the guests.

FLIGHTS & TRANSPORTATION

We booked our flight through AIRASIA because AA provides direct flight to Jaipur. The flight hours from KL to Jaipur is 5.30. The flight ticket is less than RM1500 per pax including 20kg of luggage.

Getting around JAIPUR is also pretty simple. You can either use UBER/OLA apps. But the best ways is book a private drive like what we did. Throughout the whole trip, we booked our tour, airport transfer and private english speaking driver through KLOOK. It is like a one-stop platform for all your travel needs and also discover things to do on your destination. It is much more easier for us because you can decide our itinerary and plan our time accordingly.

For those who are traveling soon, can consider to book your tour thru KLOOK.

LET’S GET STARTED

We started our tour at Alila Fort Bishangarh, spent our 2 nights in the resort enjoying ourselves before we start to explore the city. Alila is located right at the middle of Jaipur and New Dehli. Therefore, if you plan to follow my itinerary, i would highly recommend you to start from either New Dehli > Alila > Jaipur or Alila > New Dehli > Jaipur. The distance from Jaipur to New Dehli is 550km, which took around 4.30 hours drive. You only need 1-2 days in New Dehli and 2-4 days in Jaipur. So it is better to plan your tour accordingly to save time.

Upon our arrival, we checked in to our hotel, ALILA FORT BISHANGARH
This is one of the highlight for our trip in India. This fort that we are staying is actually a 230 years old fort that turned into a hotel. We took around 1.30 hours from Jaipur airport to Alila. I booked my hotel via booking.com and it’s around RM1500 for 2 nights including the breakfast.

I’ve never stayed anywhere as luxurious and unique as this.  This palace is a real palace owned by the past Maharaja of the area many many years ago. Their services is great and the hotel is amazing.
 The pool area

Every corner of the resort is so instagrammable :P

There are two restaurant and one bar inside the hotel. The food is surprisingly good

Basically, there nothing around to do beside enjoy the facilities of the hotel. There is some activities that you can join such as hiking (RM100 per pax) and camel ride to the village besides the hotel.

Overall, i really enjoy my stay in Alila. It was truly amazing.

After our stay in ALILA, we took a day tour to NEW DEHLI

We booked our tour from KLOOK which including the transportation, a english speaking guide to explore the two most beautiful UNESCO world heritage sites in India : Taj Mahal and Agra Fort. But the packages is not including the entrance fee. The entrance fees for Taj Mahal is INR1,100 per pax and Agra Fort is INR650 per pax.

#1 TAJ MAHAL

Well, how can you not visit Taj Mahal when you are in INDIA

Taj mahal is one of the seven wonders of the world. I’ve always wanted to visit Taj Mahal when i was younger and I finally made it! It is such a beauty

First of all, it is good to know the Taj Mahal story. Once you realize that this architectural wonder is actually a mausoleum, dedicated to an amazing woman, you will look at it from a totally different perspective. To make a long story short: Taj Mahal (meaning Crown of the Palace) was built in 17th century by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan to fulfill the last wish of his dying wife, queen Mumtaz Mahal, who was the love of his life. She died shortly after giving birth to their 14th child and she asked him to make a wonderful creation in memory of their eternal love. After months of heavy grieving, Shah found a beautiful location next to Yamuna river and hired the world’s best architects to make her wish come true. It took over 20 years and 2000 workers to build the most beautiful tomb in the world. It is now known as one of the Seven Wonders of the World and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1983.
It is not easy to take a perfect photo here because this place is very crowded. We are lucky enough to meet a young tour guide who bring us to all the photo spot and help us with our photo. If you planning to visit Taj, try to go early in the morning or at the evening to avoid the crowd.

The Mughal architecture was a mixture of Islamic, Persian and Indian styles.

#AGRA FORT

Aside from the world famous Taj Mahal, the second most popular attraction in Agra is the Agra Fort. The current fort was built by the Mughals and is now a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site, although a fort has stood on the site since at least the 11th century.
Agra Fort exhibits some of India’s most impressive Muslim architectural decorations.
There was so much to see and photograph, from the patterns and details on the walls, to the massive columns of this ancient fort.

This stunning architecture and strong lines make the Agra Fort a photographer’s dream location, particularly during the late afternoon hours.

It is better to book a tour and a tour guide because it will help you to save up a lot of time and trouble  during the visit. For those who are interested to book yours, feel free to click on the link below :
